This one was in my driveway last night. Approximately 20 or so inches long and pretty thin.

Western rat snake, panthehrophis obsoletus. Formerly known as Texas rat snake, elaphe obsoleta.

A clearer picture would be nice, but my guess is a juvenile Texas Rat Snake.

Yes, good one to have around. The first deer lease I was on, I had a yellow rat snake scare the crap out of me in a small barn at very close range. I tried to shoot it while jumping and running around, and never did. Everyone was glad I missed. They still freak me out, though!
