Wife surprised me with an early birthday present trip up to Soldatna to visit a buddy of mine who goes to cook at a lodge for 3 months every summer. Great lodge right on the Kenai, first time there but definitely not the last! Came home with over 30lbs of sockeye and silver and 15lbs of halibut filets. Mighty beautiful country up there.

Awesome haul! I'm going next month and I'm hoping to get on some silvers and Halibut.

Silvers were slow in the rivers due to commercial fishing but I think it ended last Saturday. Have a great trip!

I love myself some Alaska. Our annual June trip was awesome. Even saw some brown bears coming into the fish cleaning area. Didn't take me long to get back on the boat.

I went up there about 6 years ago on a bear hunt. Alaska is probably the most beautiful place I've ever been. I hope to get back there again someday.
