BBQ Pit, mama didn't raise no fool, lol. Seasoned it with spices and butter some onions and wrapped it foil.

They cook and eat just like barracuda...firm white flesh slips off the bones easy...with garlic, onions in a foil "pouch" then wrapped in warm, fresh tortillas...couldn't make the tacos fast enough for my kids...and they loved to brag at school that they had rattlesnake tacos for dinner the night before!!!

I also remember my grandfather deep frying rattlesnake and it was great. Hot homemade corn tortillas, some scliced avocados and pico de gallo with cilantro man o man.

Well my buddy holding him stands 5'9" so that's about the best reference I can give you.
Biggest one that I've killed measured 8'2". I've never seen another one that big since
I remember my uncle had called my cousin and I to help him look for a big rattler he'd seen out at the ranch, so we headed out and as we were driving up to the main gate we saw a huge cow patty right under neath the gate and my cousin was like "now that is one big pile of [censored]!"
I started laughing then I noticed something moving and a blurted out "that isn't a pile of crap, it's the freaking snake!" So we hauled [censored] towards the gate and that sucker made it towards the horse stalls and hid. After looking about my cousin saw it coiled under neath some farming equipment and he wrapped a chain to move it and I stood In the back of the pickup bed with my Ruger 22 handgun and as soon as the snake was in the clear I made a clean headshot and we were amazed at the size of it. It had 19 rings on its ratttle. Well once gramps saw it, he was "we're gonna have some good eats tonight."
We have some big rattlers down south in my neck of the woods.

What did you shoot em with?
This one was taken with my sons Marlin semi auto 22. We were walking down the shooting range portion of my friends ranch and I had instructed him to keep an eye out for snakes due to time of year. My son spotted the snake and he wanted to shoot it but he got a bit scared and was fumbling with the trigger and he "said you shoot it dad!" Quick shot to the head and that was it.

8'2" Biggest you killed.
You would have to stand on the truck to raise it off the ground.
