Sheds, hogs and mutton bustin

Sheds, hogs and mutton bustin - 03/21/17 02:16 AM

Had a busy Saturday with the kiddo, went shed hunting at the lease and ended up with one from last year.

My deck off the rv needed a new paint job as well.

Trap was good to us, my daughter and another lease members son were happy to work the pig population down a bit with us.

Ended the lease trip with a feed sack trailer ride.

Fast forward 4 hours and my daughter is in her first mutton bustin event at the Austin rodeo.

Took first place in her round, couldn't be a happier dad, she was ecstatic as well.

Thanks, it was a super special time for her. Biggest trophy she has ever gotten. I was just proud she was brave enough to jump on that sheep. They had to pull her off at the end, it never threw her and she wouldn't let go lol.

Very rare combination -- beautiful young lady who is tough as nails! I am sure she has a lot more trophies in her future.

You got that right. I bet she remembers this for the rest of her life.

I hope so, I grew up on a ranch and want her to have some of the same experiences I did.

It is a show for sure. The courage those kiddos have is pretty awesome.

I'm a 1950 model but I never missed an opportunity to ride either a buck or ewe out the gate when Dad turned them out after drenching or selling lambs. No helmet, pads, or sandy arena. Early on I lasted a few steps but when I got older I could ride'em until they give out and layed down to rest. grin
