1st buck for my daughter and 1st bow kill - 01/11/17 01:55 PM
Last summer I bought my daughter a bow so she could start hunting with us on our property in SE Oklahoma. She did a lot of shooting during the summer to get ready for the season. When she was home from college during Thanksgiving we went on a quick hunt hoping to shoot a fat doe only to have my neighbor fire up his chainsaw just as she was about to pull back on a doe which caused the deer to run away. We had the week after Christmas to hunt and the 1st morning sitting in the stand we had this 7 point cull buck come in and after pilling the bow back and holding it for at least a minute she was able to connect with a high shoulder shot and the deer dropped in his tracks. The next morning she was able to connect on a cull spike which only ran 30 yards. It was really cool to see the hard work payoff and get her 1st buck. We had her fiance sitting in the stand with us who had never been hunting before but owns a bow and has been shooting it with her this year, now he wants to hunt also next year so it looks like i need to get a bigger place to hunt. I know he's not a monster buck but getting your 1st is always pretty cool. That Bowtech Carbon rose is an unbelievable bow for the kiddos or the ladies.

That's awesome, I bought my 4 year old daughter a toy bow that shoots small plastic arrows and Velcro balls for broad heads, she's been wearing out our barn cat and dog with that thing! I can't wait till she's a little older and can do the real thing... Congrats to you and your girl!

She did good, her first bow buck is much better than my first gun buck many moons ago.
