New Years weekend was good hunting - 01/03/17 11:05 PM
The wife, my dad, and I headed to Quanah this weekend to hunt. It was my last shot at a mature buck which didn't pan out but I did finally connect on a doe with my S&W 460 XVR. Had 12 under the feeder and she was the biggest. Shot was at 68 yards.
Pic of the exit wound from a .460 275gr that got a clean pass thru with no bone hit.
While the deer was laying in the ground, a loan pig showed up. She was in a hurry, full run towards the feeder but didn't look like she had plans of eating. 1st shot was about 100 yards running and 2nd shot was about 75 yards running straight at the stand.
Dad connected with a turkey while quail hunting.
Wife quail hunted most of the weekend. She got 28 total.
The total count for the weekend was 1 doe, 1 pig, 2 ducks, 8 dove, 36 quail.
