jiminy jumping rattle snake crickets

this is at my house not the rancho.
im barefoot in shorts just got out of the shower and i walk outside to get something from my truck and walk within 2 feet of this guy, as i reach the door of my truck i hear that distinct sound, yikes !!!!! but im now 10 ft from him, my dog avoids him like the plague, dogs know damn sure what it is, they have that instinct, anyway i run around the truck and come inside to get the peace maker.
this could have been bad, i had asked my wife to go to the truck and she said get it yourself, smart girl.

Where do you live

san antonio out skirts, plenty of houses and sub division around me but theres still woods near me too, but im on a corner with a house behind and beside me

South or west of San Antonio ? I live a just north of SA and have yet to see a rattlesnake here.

I guess if you are in shorts, he feels comfortable in his snake skin.
