Wanted to say thanks for the views and comments; they’re always appreciated. Many of you know I shoot a lot of waterfowl flight shots, even more since my lab Jessie crossed the rainbow. While all flight shots are challenging, few ducks are as difficult to capture in flight as buffleheads. It’s one thing to drop a bufflehead with your favorite duck gun but magnitudes more challenging to capture a quality flight shot, especially if they rarely fly into your spread.
For those not familiar, buffleheads are tiny speed-balls that fly right on the deck. I always tell my friends trying to get a shot, if you’re looking above the horizon, you’ll never see them as they fly so low and fast.
Always chasing a better shot hones the skill and fuels the passion. In this case I’m hopeful I’ll get a chance in better light.
