We had one like that, the antler was just dangling by piece of hair. It fell of recently.

I wanted to see this buck in person. I was worried that the skull plate would be loose and the antler would be flopping around causing him pain and discomfort. The antler looked solid and did not seem to bother him one bit. I watched him jump into and out of a feed pen and I could not see any movement on the antler. Seemed like it did not bother him at all. I am curious what he would look like next year.
