Hill Country LF Axis - 11/09/16 07:48 PM
Got out here this morning around 0230, took a nap and got in the blind by 0600. Sat in the rain and watched a LOT of deer movement. Around 10 I decided to go on in. Rode to another stand to pull the sd card from a camera. Came around the corner and movement across the draw caught my eye. Hit the brakes, slide to a stop and saw a group of axis running up the draw. He stopped and looked back toward me. Threw up my rifle and put my crosshair on his front shoulder. Squeezed the trigger and heard the slap of the A-max hit him then watched him drop. Took out my laser and he was right at 190 yards. Longest free hand shot I've ever taken on a deer.
