Where's his tail?
I was so wrapped up in getting the shot I didn't realize it was missing until editing.
He's at 200yds in the first pic and another 50 as he clears the top wire.
Maybe he'll show back up next Saturday morning.

He may be thinking they don't know what species I am so I will be safe with this nice rack.

Bet he lost it to a coyote as a fawn. Cool pick and nice buck.

Nice looking buck, indeed. His left rear leg looks a bit odd. As has been suggested, he may have had a close encounter with a predator at a very young age.

He came back on opening morning just like I'd hoped. Found him in the tall grass just a few hundred yards from the original photo spot. Tail was just a stub, still have no idea if he was born w/o or lost it to predator. Made for a nice euro mount and some tasty tenderloin and backstrap steaks!

Nice deer congrats! Have a close up pic of the tail area? We have a doe that's missing about 2/3 of her left ear. We were thinking that is was from a predator.
