South Texas Deer Photos

OK guys how about a few WT photos from SW Texas. When you mix pure south Texas genetics with age and proper nutrition you can produce big deer. I took these from several different bow blinds over several days this week. All low fence large acreage deer. I had a great time on the Holden Pasture Deer Lease and as always the hospitality and deer didn't disappoint. God Bless Texas

Yep, Mr Holden has some great deer on their place. I'm guessing the Double Down feed helps.

Those are some very healthy looking Bucks and some very good pictures.

Thanks for the kind words guys, it's a blast to see these deer upclose in their environment. Many of the mature deer will weigh 225-250 on the hoof I guarantee it! I got to go a few times in December during different stages of the rut and it gets very intense.

Magnificent photos and bucks!

The double drop is a great buck that came in very,very early in the morning. He is an absolute beast of an animal with a huge neck, chest and torso. He will be a force during the rut without a doubt. He got ran off by this big ugly boar and only gave me maybe a minute or less to change focus and light settings to try and show him at his best. The photo quality is poor and this deer deserves better. It was really much darker out than it appears.




Here is the first shot of the buck and I knew he wasn't liking all the hogs he was seeing!!!

I've heard of the deer on that ranch. I've seen advertised openings on that lease. I completely understand why they command the money that they do. Very impressive.

I've watched a few YouTube videos of this place, impressive to say the least! I think Don Holden already shot another 200in. Deer off there this year if I'm not mistaken
