MY FAVORITE GAME CAM PIC OF 2016 SO FAR! LOL - 10/03/16 01:09 AM
Made it to the lease this weekend to finish up some work that needed to be done and to fill feeders. Was filling this feeder yesterday morning and at the time this picture was taken had no idea what was going on behind me. Minute or so later I heard foot steps behind me and turned to find a yearling doe and spike at maybe 8 yards waiting for me to leave. Before I could even get on the ATV (parked just out of the frame) they had come into the feeder. I took some pictures with my cell phone of them within a few feet of my ATV but haven't downloaded the phone yet. I have noticed over the last couple of years the younger deer on the place are getting more stupid like this. If only the bigger ones would too.

Reminds me of a hunt last yr with my 4 yr old in Lometa which is high deer density. My buddy said there is a small 3 point he wants me to cull so I said you got it. On the way to the stand I look over and 30 yds away is that cull. I thought dang I don't want to shoot it and end the hunt so we walked to the stand waited an hour and I shot it. I guess the deer had just been sitting there waiting for the feeder haha.

I had a yearling buck on a place that came running when I would corn roads. He got so tame I could sit on the tailgate and hand feed him. Hunted a ranch outside Cotulla for many years. The owner was on foot hand corning around a feeder prior to our evening hunt. A solid 160" 5 year old was out of the brush and following the corn trail while he was still putting corn out. Low-fence, "wild" deer.
