Opening day success

I've only seen this deer a few times but had him on cam since 2012. His left side has been jacked up every year but this year he put on some mass. He came in following 3 other bucks and gave me a great shot at 22 yards.

Nice buck. As for the rattler I've stepped on one barefoot on the porch. You know instantly when you step through the screen door and feel that skin roll. I hope I never get that feeling again. It's just part of growing up in west Tx.

After the Saturday morning hunt I checked the TC and saw that he had been slipping up and coming in right before dark a couple times a week. We put the arrow back through the holes to see the line it was a clean pass through and he went about 75 yards. Those dang rattle bugs are out and on the move I stomped several little ones this weekend but that big boy scared the crap out of me. Thank y'all it was so cool to finally get Squiggles.
