Age a few Bucks

I posted last week but the pics were a little rough. Hopefully these are a little better the 8 at the top is the wide one from my previous post but the bottom pic is a buck I've never seen before.

Both mature. The bottom a year older.

5+ on both deer.

Mature on both.

Can yall explain a few of the signs.
Sagging belly and chest?

So is this guy a little younger? Just tighter on the body?

Not all mature bucks look the same. Some are short and squatty bodied while others are long/lanky bodied. Color daytime pics are the best for aging. So you can see details/shape on the head, face, ears, neckline, body lines, depth of chest, width of brisket in-between front shoulders, belly, flank, stained hocks, calloused knees, how they sit on their hooves, backline, rump area, etc are all part of aging a deer on the hoof.
I would call that buck in the second set of pics a 4 yr old in most of the pics except the one profile he has the head/jaw//neck of an early season 5 yr old. He just does not have the depth or width of the brisket in the front shoulder to be a 5 yr old to me. The more pics and angles you have to judge by the better you can get.

Thanks ranchman. Have yet to kill a buck with my bow. Past up on a lot of deer just weren't the right ones or big enough but want to make sure my first buck with a bow is mature.
I hunt on our family place and this year has by far been the best year as far a August/September pics.
Maybe the year around protein we started a year and a half ago has something to do with it.
Also the rain.

Is there anyway those could possibly be the same buck? The second pic and the last set of pics?

When sitting and hunting, I watch the interaction among the bucks around feeder or in a food plot while bucks are in feeding patterns and then into the rut. You will be able to see differences in body size, posture and attitude. Old bucks walk differently than young bucks. Compare as much as you can while you are watching deer while you are able to see them at all angles around other deer. I used to video a lot of bucks then go home and view the video on a TV. Spend more time looking at body and posture than antlers. The oldest bucks are not always the largest antlered bucks. Now days I used a DSLR camera and will take a pic of a buck even before looking in my binos at him.

It could be with the age from one year to the next appearing to be about right. Hard to tell for sure without more pics. This years pics the buck appears to have a swollen or infected area in his brisket making him look much older.
