Big North Texas buck

Big North Texas buck - 07/27/16 12:12 AM

Camera dates/times are off, forgot to set them on the new camera. Drove out this morning to pull a few cards and found this guy. Just south of Montague County line. What do y'all have him scoring at? His left beams tine length is weak however I think his mass makes up for it. Mid to Upper 140's? I've got him at 5.5 years old, any thoughts? Cant wait for bow season. Thanks for looking

Very nice deer. It's hard to calculate mass in velvet bc they always seem to have good mass before they shed the velvet.

Re: Big North Texas buck - 07/27/16 12:42 AM

I would say at least 5.5 and probably more. Don't know that he will get to 140 unless he does quite a bit more growing. Even after he rubs out he will still have really good mass though so 140 is possible but I say just a hair shy.

Either way he is a nice buck and that first pic is awesome!

He's going to be a good one! If he grows and has better tine length he should make 140.

Good looking buck, I think he is closer to 130, unless his left three and four grow a bunch.

Kill him and score him. I think he's gonna end up closer to 145 than 140. Prove me right or wrong.

Very nice mature buck! A shooter for me for sure.

I bet you are right on the age of 5.5 could be 6.5.

He's got a mid 140s frame but what hurts him is that left G3 and G4.

I do think he's going to have decent mass even though the velvet makes him look bigger.

I think he'll be right at 140

Good luck!!

Unique buck with great character. I have him at 141". Tines will have to grow just a little but I think he would make it up

I think somewhere around 140 give or take a few is on the money. Just pulled cards from my other North Texas place and have another big boy on camera. I'll post a new thread soon.
