First boar in new hog trap (guess weight)

First boar in new hog trap (guess weight) - 07/25/16 02:30 PM

This guy has been pretty tricky - been in trap for a couple of weeks and never tripped the wire. My camera doesn't get good cell reception at night, so I haven't wanted to trip it remotely because I usually get pics 20 minutes after the picture was taken.

Hog buyer already picked him up and weighed him. What do you guys think he weighs? Trap is 12-feet in diameter.

Also saw around 30 (including babies) on my way in. Hoping to pick up that group in the next couple of weeks.

Came in at 210. I think the pics may be misleading because the trap is a lot bigger than it looks. Here's a pic of my hog buyer next to the trap for perspective. He's a big guy.

Also have a video of him smacking his teeth together and trying to lift the trap this morning. Was seemingly very unhappy to be there, oddly. My 6-yr-old was talking tough about not being scared right up to the point where we pulled up next to the cage and he charged it.

"Maybe I'll just stay in the truck, actually, dad."

Cool trap! It drops on them? Is there just one pin holding it up attached to the trip wire?

I can release it from my phone, but that feature hasn't been very reliable because cell coverage is poor at night.

There are 2 rebar spikes with little notches hammered into the ground and a third rebar post that goes across them with a string tied to the trip. It only takes a fairly minor bump from a hog to trip the trap.
