A shot of my son from a movie.

A shot of my son from a movie. - 07/01/16 01:25 PM

My wife and son have done some background work on multiple movie's as well as television shows and music video's that are being made here in Louisiana. He and my wife had a lot of fun on this set (Free State of Jones) and said Matthew McConaughey was a very nice guy to work with and was friendly to everyone! It was cool to see my wife as well as my son's face fill up the big screen. This photo is a freeze frame from my TV off a trailer for the flick.
My son has moved on to a great job in North Texas but my wife still does background work here in south LA

Good stuff! When Varsity Blues was being filmed, my neighbor and I would go be background people in the crowd at the football games. I've yet to find us on the big screen, but it was still fun getting paid $50 a night to whoop and holler all night long during the summer. They filmed it at our HS football stadium and locker room.

I was asking about the filming of Varsity Blues. Sorry I should have been more specific.

Thanks for all the kind words folks, he's a good young man. My wife normally works several days a week on different movies and television shows that are made here in the area. After my son graduated from college in December she talked him into coming here for a few months while he looked for a "real" job. He started working on some of the local productions and this was one of them. He's got a 'real job" now in North Texas in the same industry. Again guys, thanks for the positive comments! Baker

Very cool. We want to see that movie.

'Hope it was filmed in a cooler part of the year. That uniform, summer, south Louisiana - I'd have heat stroke in about 15 minutes.

He got lucky on that one. It was filmed in several locations in south Louisiana and the parts he was in were filmed in Jan/Feb 2015. They had a few cold wet days for sure. The movie is pretty decent and so far I've been able to spot my wife several times as well as my son. I'm sure I'll have several copies of the blue ray headed home the first day they are released. grin

Sorry I missed the question. He was not required to get a SAG card for the background work. But I think he has something to do with the BAG (background actors guild) group.
