Rebuilding my Dads 49 Ford

Rebuilding my Dads 49 Ford - 06/27/16 01:05 PM

Started with my Dads 1949 Ford F1, with 60,000 original miles, broke it dowm, had it painted then he and I have continued the restoration, lots of busted knuckles and bruises, and empty pockets, but darn close to finishing it...huge smile on his face....damn well worth it! By the way...that's Dad sanding on the bed boards, very last pic....

Re: Rebuilding my Dads 49 Ford - 06/27/16 01:46 PM

Great job and what a neat pickup. We had a '50 model on the ranch with a flat head V8 and four on the floor that we used as a pear burning wagon. One Saturday night about 50 years ago, an illegal alien decided to make a run for the border and did not make it very far before he rolled it out through a pasture.
Adios,
Gary

Re: Rebuilding my Dads 49 Ford - 07/20/16 03:07 PM

Looks great!

I'm a little jealous, my dad never believed in keeping old cars, when you got a new one you got rid of the old one. Maybe some day when he is retired and my boy is a little bigger and we all have more time on our hands we can find a project, I think he would enjoy it and I know I would.
