I have walked within a few feet of them and they almost always stay still.

Nice photo. They are starting to show up everywhere.

Cutting a pasture yesterday and almost ran over one. I had slowed down to go around a large tree. It jumped up and ran when I got about 5 feet from it. Never saw it until it ran, momma can hide them well.

Yep and yep. My dog knows to stay back and alert, when he finds one first.

Good looking little feller.
Being the hunter/wildlife guy in the family, I get a call every year when someone finds a lone fawn and they are panicking thinking it is abandoned. I wish folks would just leave them alone so they can join their mother when she gets back.

I had one drop beside his momma and lay their while we stood over it. Even touched it. Momma was standing off a bit blowing and snorting! up

Finished mowing the west side of my place and had 2 does with fawns standing on my neighbors place less than 50 yards from me nursing their fawns and neither one paid me any attention at all. It is amazing what they get used to and will tolerate when they have little ones.

My neighbor had a doe chasing his dog up on the porch steadily pounding the carp out of it. Pup had sniffed out a fawn. He had to pull out his pistola and scream at her before she would stop pounding on the pooch. She finally got the message and bolted. He was afraid he would have to shoot her. This was only last week.
