looks like a pretty place with lots of activity!
The place is looking great. Looks like Scott and I should of came over to your place to shoot some pigs. They were playing hard to get on ours.

Whats the little panel cage by the feeder leg?

Love those double mountains. I'm just about due west on the Stonewall county line.

I put protein blocks in there. The cage keeps the hogs from pushing it away from the camera.

Interesting, do the hogs still get after the block?
Interesting, do the hogs still get after the block?
Yes, but that's what I get for not fencing my feeder. We like to hunt hogs too so they get to the block as well. I have other places that the protein feeders are fenced with blocks in there where the hogs can't get to them. I at least like to see what is eating the blocks even if it is hogs.

Re: Weekend at the ranch - 04/25/16 02:52 PM
Thanks. We put up some feeder pens around our corn feeders. The pigglets still get in off and on. I will be putting our blocks on a stand this year the rabbits and rats in our area put a huring on the feed blocks on the ground, but the deer seemed to really like them as well.
I have a love hate with the hogs. I like to shoot/eat them, but they deer spottings and most notably the buck activity has skyrocketed at the first feeder we penned. We like the hogs, but in the end we are there for the deer. so we are penning feeders except for one which will be our dedicated hog hunting stand, hopefully it will increase the productivity of hog hunting since its the only feeder they can access.

Very nice. You don't have trouble with hogs rooting around your feeder legs?

I have t-post under the feeder legs. They are driven into the ground to keep them from moving the legs.

Think I see it in one of your pics. I've always just put one in the ground and attached it to leg with wire, went up this weekend and they had rooted over 18" down one of the legs.
