Tour De West Texas - 03/17/16 02:29 PM

I got a few days off this week so my wife and I went back home to WT to visit her folks and see if any wildflowers were blooming yet! It's about 2 weeks early for a major wildflower bloom but we found a few Bluebonnets,Indian Paintbrushes and some beautiful Cactus blooms. I'll post a photo from last year at the Buchanan Damm so you can compare the water levels from one year to the next. The hill counrty as well as many parts of central Texas are as green as they have been in quite a while. I hope it last. I got a few shots of a very nice young wide 8pt WT near the airport in San Angelo. He will make a hell of a buck someday if he dosen't get run over or poached!! Later Taters, Baker

Nice pics. As much as I hate prickly pear I have to admit they're pretty when they bloom.

Great pics as usual sir. Sounds like a great little boondoggle, Such a pretty time of year. Heading to the ranch in April for some Spring Turkey, can't wait.

And, you're right: that wide 8 will be a real dandy if he grows up!

It's gonna be a few years Don. I looked at a couple places near Kerrville on Monday and it looks like I need to save some more money to get what I want. If oil prices stay down I may be retiring at the end of this year weather I want to or not!! Take Care sir!! Roland
