Self Guided Aoudad Success - 02/02/16 07:15 PM

Just over a week ago I had a group of my regular clients out to hunt the Terlingua area for Aoudad
on a DIY hunt. 4 of the 5 hunters tagged out with the 5th missing 2 big rams. Here are a couple pictures
from there hunt

Awesome rams. Love that people can book a hunt for such a fair price and do it on their own!!!

Thanks Eddie and that's what makes these hunts so appealing to most.

Mike, I have little to no knowledge of the West Texas elk and aoudad herds. Are the populations growing, stable (say over the last 10 years or so) or in decline. In other words, how does the future look for these animals.

I could type for days on this but in short the Aoudad are doing extremely well in all areas of the state but
ranchers/land owners do have a love hate relationship with them. Some shoot as many as they can to keep them thinned out
and the state flies the state park to shoot all of them in hopes to help the big horn. Areas they are not shot they do very well.

It is the same situation with the Elk.
