BuckTales: Passing on the big bucks..
The hectic nature of the work world really wears you down to the point where the time away has to be at a slower pace. My morning routine is designed to begin the day quietly as the sun comes up. The predawn drive out to the ranch helps prepare my mind as I listen to the music & news on NPR. The long walk through the pastures and woods tunes my senses back to nature where I see, hear and smell the new day beginning and feel the presence of the Lord with me.
In my younger days I would have taken any one of the bucks I've managed to sneak up on out at the ranch this fall. For many of us older guys that have hunted long enough the reason for doing so changes and matures as we age. For now I'll continue to pass on these bucks in favor of waiting for the time when a young hunter can fill his tag with a memory of a lifetime..
