Jack County - 11/10/15 10:55 PM

Got only a few pics of this Jack Co Buck. What do yall think? Did he get injured early in velvet stage or is it genetics? Never seen a buck like this on the property.

I would guess injury based on the way the other side grew.

Not genetics but some sort of injury, either in velvet or to the pedicle.

I say genetic. We have 2 buck on our lease in Jack that for the past 2 have done the same thing each year. They look very similar to your buck. The grow a main frame on one side and a mutation on the other side. I showed the GW the pics this past weekend and he agreed, genetic issue.

If the pedacle is damaged the messed up side will be messed up year after year but it's not a gene they can pass on to their offspring.

His good side is stellar also. I'd let him mature

How do you know they didn't injure their pedicle permanently?
