Wyoming Elk Hunt and 338 Norma - 10/22/15 07:54 PM
I've been back for about a week. The weather was to warm and we did not have any Elk down in the unit we were hunting in, I also had a chest cold before we left that got worse and has officially tuned into walking pneumonia so it's been a long couple weeks. On the plus side we did play with that 338 Norma a bit. Pay attention to the time of flight. 300gr Berger OTM.
Here is a picture of the elk I shot..... oh wait. nevermind.

The man can shoot. I have watched him do it.
He also has some kickass toys!

You are shooting further than I can see. I must be getting old.

Nice, David!
I got a 3.1 second flight time. Shooting a 300 grain Berger OTM at 2750 fps at 5000 feet elevation, puts you around 1900-2000 yards out. If you are higher up in elevation, the flight time will be slightly less, with further distance. I'm calculating 1900-2000 yards out. So, how far was it!??
