Where are there free range Oryx? I've heard of a herd in NM but not in Texas.

Axis was free range. Oryx was in a low fence.

There are free range herds in far west Texas.

Scimitar horned oryx are often just called oryx, which are found on ranches all over Texas. Gemsbok, which are part of the oryx family are also found on ranches all over Texas, but there is a wild herd that was released on the White Sands Base in New Mexico that is a draw hunt for anybody willing to put in the money to apply for a tag.

Eddie,

I know they are on high fenced ranches in Texas. I didn't realize there were free range herds in West Texas. Seems like now there are pockets of free range exotics in TexAs to hunt with the right guides. I shot a nice free range Axis and Blackbuck this summer. I was interested in that free range SITKA hunt Mike was offering but I missed the boat.
