That's the way it used to be. Then GM realized that a lot of people liked the look of the Z71 package bud didn't need the 4x4 so I think they created the Z66. I guess people must have complained that they wanted their trucks to look like real trucks (
) so GM got rid of the Z66 and made the Z71 with two wheel drive. Now, you can either get the Z71 package or the Z71 4x4 package. If it's the 4x4, it will typically have the Z71 4x4 badge, and the two wheel drive will just have Z71 on it, so it's still kind of like having the Z66 sticker. I don't really understand all of the nomenclature changes which is why I asked the question.
