Neighborhood buck

Neighborhood buck - 08/26/15 02:15 AM

So, I was standing in my front yard in the middle of the day. It was 100* and I was standing out in the open, watering my peppers, trying to keep them alive since we've had no rain. When, out steps this buck from the greenbelt across the street from my house. Not a care in the world, he walks over and starts browsing on the trees behind the mailboxes. I was able to put down the hose, run into the house to grab the camera and snap a couple of good pics before he melted back into the brush. We've never seen a buck this nice around here in 16 years!

What a nice surprise!! Hopefully you live in an area where everybody doesn't have to kill every buck that lives there and you will get to see him again and again smile

It was a nice surprise, especially in the middle of the day like that. He has a nice 300ac city park in suburban north Austin as a home, so as long as he doesn't step out in front of a Prius he should be pretty safe. We've seen a few does and a smaller buck too, so hopefully they stick around.

He's probably checking in on his peppers making sure you were still watering them for him later.

What I was thinking, sounds like he has a good employee keeping it green!

We live in the country and they eat all my wife's flowers darn near, killed a couple of small pines we planted, have even seen young bucks pestering the dogs, they know there is a fence LOL.

Got to love the country life!
