Wyoming black bear 2015 - 08/15/15 02:28 PM
Last night I took a stroll around the farm. I wasn't planning on getting out of the ranger so I was in tennis shoes and shorts. We haven't been seeing any black bears this summer and got completely skunked during the spring season back in April. Right as I'm finishing my evening drive, I spot this critter across the creek. Not the hugest black bear but there was something special about it. When I looked through the binos I noticed it had a tag in each ear. Not knowing if it was legal or not, I gave the GW a call. He told me it was perfectly legal and to shoot it if I wanted. By the time that conversation ended the bear was out of sight completely. I eventually found the bear down the creek a ways. It took one shot with my .300 win mag to seal deal. The bear is the same size as mine from last year but shooting a tagged bear seems like a once in a lifetime opportunity so I went for it. My Nikes didn't quite make it.
