"Drop Tine if I Do" - 08/13/15 03:26 AM

First ever drop tine buck I have seen on my lease. Only had pics of him for two nights out of 6 weeks worth of pics. Likely won't seem him again, but if I do.......

Yea, yea, the coons are about to get their due. "Dukes" about to put a hurtin on them tonight banana2

Good luck! Just shot my first droptine last year - first time I'd ever seen one on our place, but there have been other in the gene pool. Always cool to see! Hope you get to measure that drop in person!

Great buck !

I wouldn't worry about the raccoons. Keep as little pressure as possible in the area.

And yes the coons are tearing up the feeder. I normally will have 10-12 coons a night at this feeder so it's time to do some cost cutting measures and just feed the deer and make it a more inviting spot. I only go about evey 6-8 weeks so there is no pressure at all. Saw him on 6/30 and the day following, nothing since. Oh well, that's why they call it hunting. Never know who or what is gonna show up.

Great buck. Get rid of those coons or they will keep the deer off the feeder eventually. That buck will be back since he is mature and knows the area well. If the does are there in the rut, he will be back.

Thanks guys. I am no expert when it comes to aging deer but am learning as time goes on like most on here. I have been passing on what I thought were immature bucks for two years now. Haven't shot a aingle whitetail buck since I have been on the lease. It's not that I don't have any, it's that their time and my time of being present haven't lined up yet. Glad to see things are paying off a little even though I haven't seen him before.
