I took the following pics on January 2, 2015. It was hard for me to let this deer walk but I wanted to get another year of age on him.

The pictures are kind of fuzzy because it was low light and he was moving. I have about 20 minutes of video of him. woot

Good call, my guess is he's 4.5, still maintaining decent weight for post rut.

He was still looking for a hot doe while all of the other bucks were eating corn. deer

Very nice buck, took lots of inner strength to let that one walk. Not sure I could have.

Nice buck, but IMO he is very rutted down at that time of the year. Face and head area make me want to lean more towards 5 at that time of the year. No matter if he is a year younger, you let him walk. He walked into the best rainfall in years cheers Should be a toad this year deer2

I agree with you. He was rutted down and was still carrying a lot of weight. I had him at 5 but I have been off by a year before. Some of his tines are bladed and he has a pretty heavy burr around the bases. When I look at the video I took, his brisket definitely flaps back and forth when he walks. I would like to post the video but my computer does not have enough horsepower. confused2

He is a beauty, don't know that I could have let him walk. You did and like stx said he went into the best year for growth. Hope you get him this year.
