Free Range Axis--Rocksprings

Free Range Axis--Rocksprings - 07/15/15 08:15 PM

Finally had a free weekend to go to my place in Rocksprings to fill feeders, water totes, and check on the place. Well, as it just turned out, the axis were moving like crazy so we decided to sit in the stands Saturday morning.

My future step father in law on the left got the bigger one. Main beam on right side was 32 1/4" and left side was 31 1/4". I was a little disappointed when I measured mine, but he's at the taxi none-the-less. Forgot which side was the longest, but longest main beam was 28 1/2" and shortest was 27 1/2". Guess I got too excited and thought he was easily 30" on each beam.

I hope the picture shows up, its my first time posting a pic!

Always surprised on the weight of those animals. Seems like they are built like a tank. Good harvest, and enjoy grat venison!

Two great trophies and a great picture. Not a bad "bonding experience" with the future in-law. Congratulations to you both.

Thanks everyone.

The place looks great, lots of grass and its thick and tall. But its starting to get really hot and dry. Hopefully, we get a few showers of rain soon.

We didnt weight them, but Ive weighed some of the ones we killed before. I would say they are between 200-225 lb just from loading this bad boys up on the jeep rack.
