Pool Explosion

We have a summer party every year, and to start things off I usually blow something up. Last year it was a 4 ft tall pony pinata with 4lbs of tannerite.

This year I went a little bigger and put 20 lbs of tannerite under a 10ft wide, 30 inch deep, 1500 gallon pool.

It turned out pretty impressive. The water plume reached between 150 and 250 feet high. The crater left was astounding. The force actually shoved the dirt aside into a 8 inch high mound that surrounds a 4 ft wide, 2 feet deep hole. The mound still has all the grass on it and looks like a ripple in water when you drop a rock in. Pretty cool.

How did you set the tannerite off if it was under the pool...just curious????

That was awesome. I've blown up a lot of stuff with Tanerite, but never a pool, good job sir!

I first thought of floating some out in the pond, but figured I would kill some fish. That's when I came up with the pool idea.

I don't know what I'm gonna do next year to top this one. I can't do anything metal or made from any other hard materials. Don't want to kill anybody and more importantly I don't want to hit shrapnel with my mower.

If anyone has any ideas of something AMAZING to do, just let me know.

Looking at the still pictures at the end, the red color was really impressive in that one pic. Can you die the water red to get an even bigger effect?

no special license is needed just go to academy or cabelas they have it on the shelves

I'd think getting a hippopotamus to swallow a huge amount of it and then shooting it would be pretty incredible.

Or just save yourself the effort and shoot the hippo with a rocket launcher.
