Not a good pic at all, I know. But no rattlers, like I seen posted before, cant remember now who it was, but the pup did it again!!!!

That was my post, in my 40+ years outdoors I've never seen that. Much less multiples. Somebody else said they've killed several like that this year.

Ok jrfan I posted on the one you posted and said how scary that was with no rattlers, and here I get one. How strange huh?

Billy do you get a lot of rattlers in the Granger area?They didn't start showing up here at my place just east of Georgetown until about 6-8 yrs ago.I'm sure there were some around but we didn't start seeing them til then

tex70, a bunch. From last November till this November I killed 9. I grew up in Round Rock, they were there most all my life and i moved to RR in 1963. They are THERE!!!

Here in Minnesota back in the 1950's & 60's the government used to pay a bounty on rattlesnakes, along with pocket gophers & striped gophers. All you had to turn in was the rattle or feet off gophers in exchange for the bounty money. Some of the old trappers & woodsmen would catch snakes alive and just cut off the tail, then releasing them to reproduce more. Guess it was like "job security" for the trappers. Rattlesnakes are now protected here by law, as there are only few Timber Rattlers left in certain small areas.

Could it be that hogs grab them by the tail, trying to kill them, and they end up breaking off?
