Clear Fork of the Brazos

Posted By: dogcatcher

Clear Fork of the Brazos - 05/25/15 11:59 PM

When the Brazos gets to a certain level the City of Abilene is allowed to pump water into FT Phantom Lake. This is the first time in quite awhile that I can remember it happening.

The Clear Fork of the Brazos in Jones county.

The water going in to FT Phantom Lake.

We really didn't get the rain, this runoff comes from back towards the Snyder and Post areas.

Looking good. Sure wish we could capture the runoff going down the Trinity and route it that way.

That's pretty cool that they can use the water elsewhere. I wish we could ship our excess somewhere useful.

Can't get a boat in at most of the ramps. The east side ramp south of the old Fishing Village was nothing but dry land a few weeks ago. Not sure on how much water the lake caught, we haven't had the rains like the rest of the state. Our May total is only around 5".

Weather man says it ain't over yet. Conroe wishes they could send water elsewhere. They are flooding out houses down stream near Houston because they had to start releasing lake water into the San Jac.
