Spent the day with a Battle Buddy

A lot of y'all have probably seen the threads in off topic but if not this is my friend SGT Jason Walker who lost his leg after stepping on an anti personnel land mine during our last deployment to Afghanistan. He has been going through a lot lately and may end up losing his other leg which has caused him to suffer from severe depression and a lot of physical pain. I got a group of buddies together and organized a trip down to Ft Sam Houston to hang out with him for the day.

I have to say hanging out with him was a very humbling experience. It is really an eye opener as to how lucky we are to be healthy. He did say that they are taking extremely good care of his family and himself. All in all it was a great day.

One thing I forgot to add is the guy on the far left was Jason's squad leader and one of the first on the scene after Jason was hit. He applied 4 tourniquets to Jason's legs and most likely is the reason Jason is still here today. Also his mom made that blanket that Jason has in the picture. She makes a couple a year for wounded warriors.
