I'd rather tangle with a rattler than that one. Deal with to many down here in louisianan.

Not me, I'll take that over a rattler any day

this is the ever common bad snake it is quite easy to fix the problem though, shovel or bullet to the head and it will be the much friendlier good snake.

There's no way in hell I would've even been that close to take that pic. A soon as I saw it I would have changed directions.............

I know most will disagree but I gave him a pass. He was almost a 1/2 mile from my house and would have to cross a creek and come across a 4 acre pond to get to the house. This was the most docile moccasin I've have encountered. He did get in his defensive mode with mouth open but never became aggressive at all. I picked him up with a large and long stick and he never made any kind of offensive move. I do not handle venomous snakes with my hands. No thanks, for me that's pushing luck. Had he been closer to home, or aggressive like most are, I would have quickly dispatched him. Now watch, in a couple of weeks he'll probably bite my on the arse.

you must have never had a close call with those slithring bast-erds or we would have seen before and after pic`s
Yep. That's the real deal. I never give them a pass. Not worth a bite to a person or a dog.
A friend of mine lost a great hunting dog to a rattler several years ago, and his 5 year old daughter was close to the dog when it got hit.
If its venomous, it gets dispatched.
