Killed a good one today. - 04/07/15 10:36 PM
In my defense, I couldn't identify it with just its head sticking out of the hole.
Hole (that's our bedroom window to the left on our little place out of Fbg.):
I was going around the house, looking for red wasp nests, since I'd seen several dead inside. Saw his/her head sticking out and went back inside and loaded up the old .22 Winchester with rat shot. Knowing the War Dept. would say "kill it", no matter what kind of snake it was (ironic, since she's terrified of mice and rats), I put the muzzle up to its non-aggressive mouth and pulled the trigger. After I went inside and checked that I didn't blow a hole in the ceiling, I put my gloves on, got a coat hanger, and pulled 4&1/2' of this thing out of the fascia (which I don't think connects to the space over our bedroom, but I couldn't risk it).
Texas Rat Snake, right??
We'll probably see all kinds of mice around, and in the place this Spring and Summer now.
Gotta take spray foam back up there this weekend and fill the hole.
