My room is a bow museum. Bow technology is over rated. I killed a deer with a 40 year old recurve last year and it died just as dead as the one I shot with a rifle. I just like the old bows and they are cheap because most people give them to me, I have about a dozen, some 50 years old. I have nothing against brand new things but it's cool to shoot the old ones.

I still have a Golden Eagle Carbine Hawk from about '95. It is very short axle to axle, especially back then. I need to drag it out and kill something with it. I'm very limited on how much I get to hunt so I usually grab a rifle.

Nice harvest! And nice bow. I had an old PSE from the late 80's that I learned to shoot on, and I shot it for a long time (with much harassment from my fellow bow hunters!!!). It was very accurate and I sometimes miss that bow. I killed MANY pigs with it, multiple deer and a young bobcat, and all kinds of non-game critters. It shot just as good as my newer (but still older) Mathews does.

I killed a doe with a late 60s Ben Pearson Recurve a few years back, the end result is the same but something about shooting the old bows is cool.
tlk- I shot fingers with this one for years but the old plunger rest finally broke so I put two prong Golden Key on it and when drawing with fingers it rolled the string and the arrow wanted to jump off the rest so I found an old realease. It shoots good but lord is it heavy and cold to hold in the mornings.

That's awesome dude! I have a buddy that shoots a old pse nova, this was his first year to actually hunt with it, he killed this, and like you said,it's as dead as anything else , now he's hooked.
