whats up with this guy?

still no pics of the one we dont speak of but i had this guy on camera quite a bit...in almost every pic his tongue is hanging out, any ideas?

wonder if he bit it and killed the nerves

We had on Old doe on our place that looked just like that. I got to see up close at about 15 yds. during Bow season. I watched her eat some corn that I had thrown out by the stand and she didn't have any teeth and she would just pick it up and thrown her head back and just swallow it whole. Her Hide looked just the same. I should have shot her to put her out of her misery but I didn't. Never saw her again so I guess Nature did its thing.

We used to kill carp like that when we were kids. My mom bought me a bow fishing rig when I was 13 and it worked so much better and wasn't so primitive. here is a picture of a doe that liked to keep a dip in her mouth. She used to sleep on the door mat and she wasn't about to share her dip.
Your deer may of bit its tongue when it was exhausted and running or jumping. Ever seen a deer so wore out from being chased by something its tongue was hanging out. That would be a bad time to chomp down. I killed a deer with a bent face one time, always wondered what happened to it. Heres a picture of it, and a perfect example of an injury causing abnormal antler growth on the opposite side.
