Turkey Season 2015 Opening Day Success - 03/23/15 02:05 AM
Gents,
I wanted to share some pictures and updates from my opening day 2015 turkey hunt.
I hunted a ranch in Medina county as a guest of a very good friend. Larry, is an excellent caller and turkey/deer hunter.
We arrived Thursday evening to with plans to spend Friday brushing our ground blinds. We were fortunate to evade the rain all Friday.
Not so lucky Saturday. The rain finally broke around 10:30 and we were in the blind by 11:00.
Shortly after noon I bagged this very nice gobbler. 10" beard, long spurs and feather that looked pristine. Guess the sparring has not set in yet.
We saw lots of mature Toms and Hens and also lots of young jakes and hens as well.
Spring is close but not quite there yet....It will pop soon though.
Best Regards,
