Tough luck at the rodeo

Tough luck at the rodeo - 03/01/15 03:34 AM

My little boy has been riding calves and we recently started traveling for rodeos. He's been having a blast. This past Tuesday we had our first hangup. He was scared at first but was ready to get back on 5 minutes later. I love being able to do this with him and him wanting to.

Getting ready

Hung up underneath the calf with the clown going down.

Me checking on him

Telling his momma about the ride

Makes it easier when dad is right there, will be many times he will need you to coach him over a tough spot. Great song "That's my Job" by Conway Twitty, gets it pretty close. Great job helping him experience fear and getting through it up

Thats awesome! Whats that big ridgeback dog there for, is it to bay or catch a holt of that calf if things get out of hand, instead of having pickup men?

Thank you everyone.

FBCHunter you are right. We bucked a few new bulls and weren't sure what they were gonna do so the dog was our backup plan. We still had a pickup man and 3 clowns though

I've seen the underside of a few bulls and it ain't pretty. Tell him to hang in there and be safe.

Has Momma started talking to you yet or is she still upset and blaming you for almost getting her baby killed?
