Gift from a friend

Gift from a friend - 02/28/15 02:40 AM

I received a gift from a guy today that just floored me. He is the son of a man that was very close to me and that hunted with me in Zimbabwe in Aug. 2011. That man passed away the following May. The son hunted with me in Mozambique this past year and is an incredible woodworker. Whole thing doesn't have a nail in it and just has two screws on the inside, anchoring the hinges. 'Gotta make a trip to the cigar shop. The copper dots in the outline of Africa on the top are the locations I've hunted in Africa and he even included a drill bit and another copper dowel for future hunts. You don't come across friends and families this nice very often in life.

What better way to make his father proud than to honor someone his dad obviously was very fond of. The best gifts come from the heart! I'm sure you feel honored..... as you should! It's a beautiful piece. Baker

I am not a profound woodworker but something I do in my free time from here to there.

I have learned to respect wood glue, tongue and groove, etc. Its always hard to make it line up perfect.

This is one of the most beautiful pieces I believe I have ever seen. I am quite impressed. The man that built it has an outstanding talent.

One hell of a gift to boot. The man hours invested were more than most think.

That is an amazing piece of art! The only problem is those dots don't indicate that you've hunted on the west coast of Africa. Get your butt to Namibia! BMD will vouch for me.
