Old photos of My Grandma and grandpops

I haven't seen these photos since I was around 10, my brother used his phone to take photos and sent them to me.

1st one is my grandmother, we think it was in the late 30's, when they lived in Northern California. Grandfather hunted whenever they needed meat, but they also liked having deer around. My grandmother told me when I was about 10, about how the deer would let her feed them in the back yard.



Next one is my grandfather (a horse trainer/ cowboy when he was young) on one of his favorite horses "Chester". Chester was hit and killed by a drunk driver after they moved to Southern California, while one of my uncles was riding him on a dirt road . This photo was in the early 50's.

Sure miss them both.

Great pics to have. I have a similar picture of my Grandfather, oddly enough his horse was named Chester also.

very cool photos, my grandmother used to hand feed a wild squirrel when we were kids. The squirrel allowed my sisters and I to feed her as well. This went on for several years until she had babies and then kept her distance. I suppose a natural protective instinct??

Either way, thank you for helping me remember some good ol' memories.

Dennis, those are some great pics! Man, that's an awesome buck! Most of us work our butt's off and spends hours in the woods trying to find a buck like that and your grandmother apparently just walked out her backdoor with some food and presto! Can't beat that! That's a beautiful horse your grandfather is on as well. Thanks for sharing! Oh, and tell your brother all your THF friends enjoyed the photos:)

My Granny told me the deer would even come up on the porch as long as grandpa stayed in the house LOL. He hunted strictly for food back then when they still ate meat and he never cared, or thought about "season dates" I could tell y'all a funny story of him and the GW if you care to hear it LOL.
