Hunter Rifle Challenge 2015 - 01/25/15 04:44 AM

Chad and Jason did a TOP NOTCH job on this. I had a HUGE time and got to meet and shoot with a bunch of GREAT people.
Here's what I pulled from my cell phone. PLEASE add more if you have them!!
It started off with a pretty good frost

This was walking up to the Zero Line where we all gathered to check in.

Checking the zero into the sun

I brought along my Tactical C.A.M.S. unit (carry all my stuff).

It probably would have worked better with a bit less mud.

My boots weighed about thirty pounds too.

I didn't get a pic of all of the stages, unfortunately.
This was the Bobcat at 150 yards off of that VERY cool rest!!

This was the Know Your Limits stage. Most of us didn't.

I tried to get a pic of the KYL targets through the spotting scope.

Shooting the Prairie Dog stage.

One more at the Prairie Dogs. I'm sorry. I really don't know who I was taking pictures of.

Shooting the Barricade

Second Shot

And then the sunset on the way home.

I could not have asked for a better time, even with the mud. I can't wait for next year!!
Thanks!!

I tried to video all the stages with a go pro on my scope. Didn't turn out as great as I thought. Here is one stage. It was the barricade stage. Four different levels on the barricade. Must make three shots at two hundred yards I think from three different positions. I did standing kneeling and sitting. Hits on all three. One of my best stages.

Here is the scoreboard at the end. There were many good things on the prize table this year thank you to the sponsors.

I didn't take as many pics or videos as I would have liked. I was having too much fun and forgot all about the camera... I did get a few pics and a couple videos though...

I'm the shooter on the left in the ferris wheel picture. If I was shooting that's when I broke it.

The ferris wheel was my favorite part, I can't believe I spun it.

Here's the same Ferris Wheel target I shot at 300 yards (says 200, but it was 300). It is my favorite target to shoot!

Makes me feel better. Lol it sucked cause I had it moving pretty good. Best stage of the match and made it well worth the 2.5hr drive.

I was on deck when you were shooting and watching through the scope and it made the craziest move when it broke and just stopped despite how fast it was swinging.

I didn't do near as well the second go around but it was still fun.

Re: Hunter Rifle Challenge 2015 - 01/25/15 06:45 PM

Yes, I think you would have spun it on your first try, if the target held together. The one bolt missing on the side caused the plate to slide around on the pole when it reached near the top of it's arch. When it did that, the balance shifted, and killed the momentum. I don't think you could have spun it with it broken like that with the plate swinging like that. That's why I stopped it.
