Big coyote down!

Big coyote down! - 01/05/15 04:42 PM

Beautiful night to be out, light winds out of the north, temps around 25deg and the moon was lit up I could see deer with my bare eyes at 150 yards. I had three pigs pop out onto a pasture but they either saw me or smelt me because they weren't sticking around and the shot was to far to take. I decided to check on cows and that's when I spotted trouble a damn coyote was stalking a calf, I hurried up and flanked em and just waited. The calve got about 100yds away from me then it locked up when it saw me, a few seconds pass and the coyote was within range and the 168gr amax punished his ___!

Re: Big coyote down! - 02/10/15 07:06 PM

From another thread, just a thought, should some Yotes be left out there to deal with the hog problem? Are they not really a major player in keeping pig numbers down? Or are they overpopulated b/c of the excess amount of hogs?

Nice shot on the coyote, btw.

What says everybody?

Big dog, congratulations. By the way, you gotta be the best in taking headlight pictures. Looks like a separate art in itself.

They are good at eating ones that have been killed already. Unless they get them when they are young, they are not very good at killing them from what I've observed. Anybody else seen them pursuing hogs?
