Age and Score of big Mexico 8?

Got this big guy hitting a spot on my Mexico lease pretty regular. Generally I'm not a huge fan of the age and score post but I'm curious as to what the professionals on the THF think

Age is certainly there (5.5 or better), probably mid-upper 130s on score.

Lord knows I've been wrong before, but I think 130-anything is short changing the heck out of that dude.

Knowing how big bodied those Mexico WT are, I'd say all over 145"

Yeah, given the size of his body, the overall rack is a lot bigger than it may appear in the pic.

I'd bet mid-140s.

I've got 95 down 50 up. Doesn't take much to get it to 50. Just above average mass and beams. Wouldn't be shocked it it broke 50

No doubt 4+, lots of mass on that deer.

Thats exactly what I had him at but then got to looking at some post on here of 8 points that went mid 140's and he looks like he will swamp them. Doesn't really matter to me the score and I know he is defiantly mature, he's a monster 8 no matter what… I'm starting to think he may break 150" though

He will scare the heck out of 150 for sure . I got a 149 on the wall that looks like his twin brother.

I am trying to find game cam pics of one from outside of Piedras that looks like his twin brother and if your Mexico place is anywhere near a strip mining operation it could be him or his twin. However he would be closer to 9 years old. He will go 146 or higher. Ranch man was spot on with my 8 earlier this year at 143 so I would trust in the ranchman.

145-150 agree with the chance of him breaking 150. Toad!!

My lease is not to far from Piedras, I think that big 8 point genetic is pretty dominant in the area. Every year I see at least one eight point that tempts me to pull the trigger

here a picture of a buck I saw 3 years ago that probably would have taken a dirt nap if he hadn't of busted off his brow tines

A good taxidermist could have fixed those busted browtines


I usually pass on any buck with broken points if I know they are busted.

I'm voting with you guys....high 140 maybe 150 but it all depends on the body size. One heck of an 8 point!

Here's a little update on the big 8 down in Mexico. My dad ended up getting him on a solo trip down to the ranch a week or two back. He texted me and said the buck had come into the stand he was hunting, I texted back and asked if he was a shooter. I got no response for about 20 minutes and then came a picture of the buck laying dead with a text that read "yeah, I think so"..
The measured out at 145" dead even

Awesome 8! What did the g3's measure? I had my 8 at 142" and he did not have the mass or length on the g3's like your dads. I am thinking I may have been a little to generous with my 8.

beautiful deer. It takes lots of horn for an 8 to hit 150 - brows are average. I say low 140s
