Pipeline Easement Clearing

Pipeline Easement Clearing - 12/16/14 09:25 PM

Pictures of before and after the pipeline easement clearing crew came through today on my place. Eleven pieces of equipment cleared 2800' by 90' in an hour and a half. It's amazing what big equipment can do to mature trees in about 5 seconds. The perspective isn't exactly the same in the pics, notice the first cedar tree towards the right in both.

I see now the power line is the best indicator of the level of destruction....

There will be a lot for deer to eat in that right of way once it recovers with some rain.

Are they putting pipe in or taking it out?

It's a new 24" high pressure natural gas pipeline. Trenching crew is next, then the pipeline laying crew.

I could use that crew on a few acres of cedar.

That happened to me last week. I went out and got in my stand before light, and as it started to get light, I asked myself where in the heck did the big oak tree go, then I look right and realize a group of cedar trees were gone. Then about 5min later I start to see all the stakes in the ground. So much for deer hunting this season.

Hahahahaha...lmao.

I was hunting our East Tx place during the week when 2 dozers drove down the pipeline I was hunting and cleared all the trees then the grater came right in behind to smooth the road.

I've been in the stand in Winters when a crop duster came in low and hot. Shook the dang stand on first pass the dusted it on the second pass.

Nothing like big equipment. Looks like a grinder on the front of the loader? I sure could use one of them sometime!

Wish I had crews on this one. Work a little slow at the moment

The pipeline is on the north end of my place. I hunt the south end on a deep creek bed.

Also, the area that got cleared had a heavily traveled north/south deer trail, where the deer cross a county road then across my place. Looked around there this morning and there are lots of tracks made after the land clearing. The deer still follow the same trail, even though it was obliterated by large equipment.
