First Drop tine buck

Posted By: GUTIT

First Drop tine buck - 11/17/14 01:30 AM

Saw him about 9 this morning 500 yards away running a sendero I had corned Saturday. Got to within 300 yards and I saw he had a drop tine. He got about 220 out and I put him down.

Not very big rack, small basket 10 and teeth aged him between 3.5 to 4. He needed to go.

My first time to actually see one and a chance to harvest one. Just thought I would share.

Good going man. Your not that far from me, Kent. Most of our sightings are around 9:00 also. Weird.

Yes sir, you better keep a sharp eye from 9 to about 10:30 on my ranch. Today's mist didn't hurt a bit, that dang wind yesterday kept them laid up. You get by Stephanie's in Bluffdale yet?

I gave you my word I would continue what you started. That buck bled all down in that tailgate, I mean running out the bottom. He has a good home Brother.

Glad to see you get a good one ! Especially with all the hard work we have done out there. More killing' to come and I am sure we will both be on the business end. Great buck Kent, congrats.

Question though, I distinctly heard 2 shots from the 7 Mag Cannon, was the first one a warning shot?!?!?! flame rofl

I have. Lots of really good bucks showing up this year. It has slowed down recently, but she's still having a banner year.... Nice deer, Kent. I've never seen a droptine buck around here. Sweet.

Sharp eye there, txshntr. They have a LOT of sand where they hunt. 8 miles away, where we are, it's all limestone.

Their right on the edge of sand and limestone, a transition area. Good farm country next to rough pastureland.
